| How
to install Clokey ? |
| Be
sure at least Service Pack 1 (for Windows 2000) or Service Pack 6
(for NT4) is installed on your computer. Before install any Clokey
software, you have to first install the special Sensor Drivers. Launch
CLOKEY_INSTALLATEUR.EXE then click 'Drivers Installation' on the original
CD. Select complete installation then follow instructions. Clokey
Manager: Click on 'Clokey Manager Installation' from the original
Clokey CD. Select the language for the installation then the folder
where Clokey Manager will be installed. After the installation, launch
Clokey Manager. A certificate must be provided to use Clokey Manager.
The certificate is on the root of the original CD (should be your
personal certification). The certification is automatic. After you
receive the confirmation of certification, you are ready to use Clokey
Manager. Clokey Engine: Click on 'Clokey Engine Installation' from
the original CD. Select the folder where Clokey Engine will be installed.
After the installation, launch 'Install Clokey Certificate' in the
start menu. Insert the original Clokey installation CDRom then select
the certificate on the root of the CD. The certification is automatic.
After you receive the confirmation of certification, you can install
Clokey Engine as service. Go in the Start menu then Programs and Clokey
group, and then select Install Service. After the installation, you
can launch Clokey with 'Start service' in the Clokey Group in the
start menu. |
| When
I start Clokey Engine, the message 'No INI File found'. What should
I do ? |
| The Clokey Engine
needs information from Clokey Manager in order to run properly. Launch
the Manager and add new PC-Host (the PC where Clokey Engine is installed).
It could be a shared folder if you use the Manager on a network, or
a local folder if the Manager is on the same machine as Clokey Engine.
Adds appropriate Sensor to the list, setup a time Clock with users
and generate. This will create the INI File needed by Clokey Engine. |
| My
Clokey Engine Starts but I have a warning 'Number of sensor do not
correspond to INI File'. What can I do ? |
| This messages
means Sensors connected to the machine running Clokey Engine are not
matching the setup in the Manager. Be sure the Sensor Number in the
manager is correct for the machine or sensors are well plugged on
the machine. You can have list of sensors connected right-clicking
on Clokey Engine system Tray Icon and selecting 'List of sensors'.
Unregistered sensors are sensors plugged on the machine but not setup
in the manager. |
| I
want to use Clokey in server mode over Internet. How should I setup
the firewall ? |
| Clokey Engine
in server mode use default port TCP 5861 and TCP 5862. If you use
a firewall, setup to let packets from the client to the server port
5861 and 5862 with TCP Protocol. |
| My Clokey Engine
do not respond when I put my finger to the sensor. |
| Stop and start
Clokey Engine service. You can also unplug and re-plug the USB sensor.
If it still not working, be sure the sensors are registered in Clokey
Engine: you can have list of sensors connected right-clicking on Clokey
Engine system Tray Icon and selecting 'List of sensors'. Unregistered
sensors are sensors plugged on the machine but not setup in the manager.
For security, they cannot be used if they are not registered. |
| When I put my
finger on the sensor, a message 'Bad import Line #...' appears. What
it means ? |
| This can appear
when the Clokey Engine is not certified with same certificate as Clokey
Manager. Try to get Serial number of Clokey Manager (Click on the
CPM logo) and serial number of Clokey Engine (right click on Clokey
Engine System Tray Icon then click About Clokey). The Serial number
should be the same. If not, re-install the software and apply certificate
on which do not match the serial number provided with original Clokey
CD. |
| I have plug
a CkiQF on the computer but it looks not working. |
| If you upgrade
from a simple sensor to CkiQF, you have to update settings with Clokey
Manager: select on which COM Port it will work. Be sure CkiQF is plugged
on the right COM Port. If you are not sure, you can test CkiQF right
clicking on the Clokey Engine System Tray Icon the selecting 'Test
CkiQF'. Two beeps and 'Good' should appear. If not, the COM Port is
not the good one or is not working. If you use a RS232 extender, be
sure it is a straight cable and not a cross cable. |
| I have plug
my CkiDX but it looks not working. |
| Be sure you have
setup the right COM Port for this machine in Clokey Manager. The CkiDX
number must also match the setting in Clokey Manager. You can change
the hardware CkiDX number as described in CkiDX documentation. You
can check CkiDX connected right clicking on the Clokey Engine System
Tray Icon the selecting 'Test CkiDX'. All CkiDX Connected should make
two beeps with green light on. |
| The Clokey Engine
System Tray Icon is not present. What is wrong ? |
| With automatic
start, Clokey Engine service hides the System tray Icon. If you need
it, just stop and start Clokey Engine service. It should appear for
the session. |
| I tried Demo
Clokey then have bought Clokey but it does not start ! |
| If you upgrade
from demo to Certify version, you need to re-install Clokey Manager,
Clokey Engine and Certificates for Clokey Manager and Clokey Engine.
Demo sensor numbers are no longer valid and you need to get new sensor
number. |
| Can I install
Clokey Engine in the same folder as Clokey Manager ? |
| Yes. Clokey Engine
can easily be install in the same folder as Clokey Manager. |
| How many sensors
can I plug on my machine for Clokey ? |
| Up to 8 sensors
are accepted by Clokey. If you plan to manage more than 8, please
contact CPM to get special request. |
| I am not sure
I need a CkiQF. Can you precise what is CkiQF ? |
| CkiQF allow users
to be instantly identified entering his own ID Code before put his
finger on the sensor. CkiQF also provide information by sounds and
digits. It includes the Fingerprint sensor. If you plan to put more
than 15-20 users on the same Clokey machine, CkiQF is the good solution.
Even with 10000 users, Clokey with CkiQF can match user in less than
1 second with a standard machine. |
| I plan to use
Clokey to mange 2 doors with 2 CkiQF. What do I need ? Can I use a
standard machine ? |
| 2 Ckiqf will
use 2 serial ports. So you will need at least 2 serial ports for this
configuration. Standard machine provides 2 COM ports. |
